Four boys hailing from the Eastern outskirts of London, Sisteray have established their reputation as an exciting outsider politico alternative punk band with comparisons and influences as diverse as The Clash, Sleaford Mods, The Libertines and Savages. Their highly praised 2017 release the’15 Minutes’ EP showed up on many Best Of 2017 lists, with the band recording exactly 15 minutes of music (5 tracks) taking the famous Andy Warhol quote “in the future, everyone will be world famous for fifteen minutes” as the inspiration for the music and artwork.
“Five killer songs, a short but deadly document that shuts off at the 15 minute mark”
“Exciting, full of attitude, educated and anarchic; and because it’s the best new EP by an emerging band in years, with 15 Minutes Sisteray may hold the future of British guitar music in the palm of their hand just like Oasis and the Arctics before them”
God Is In The TV
Live gigs and performance are at the centre of the Sisteray story. Songwriters Niall Rowan and Dan Connelly crashed into each other moshing down the front at a gig and after a bit of a tussle and exchange of words came to a mutual understanding that it was up on the stage that they really wanted to be with their own band. Since then Sisteray have established their live reputation across the UK including two stand out performances at Camden Rocks 2017 and slots at the Reading and Leeds Festivals etc. The also curate and run their own live music club/night Welcome To The Monkey House and 2018 will see the release of two EPs or an album when they have worked out the relevance of bands with a real punk attitude releasing ‘albums’ in these fast-moving times.
